Viking Vengeance

// WHAT IS VIKING VENGEANCE?

Viking Vengeance is a recurring Kingshot alliance event that runs every Tuesday and Thursday for approximately 40 minutes. Your alliance defends against 20 waves of AI-controlled Viking troops that attack members' cities.

Points are earned based on how many Vikings your troops kill inside allied cities. The more kills, the more points — and more points mean better alliance rewards.

// GOLDEN RULE

Empty your city before the event starts. If your own troops are home, they will steal kills from the alliance members who are reinforcing you, which hurts everyone's score. Send all your troops out to reinforce allies before the event begins and do not heal troops during the event.

Special waves: Waves 7, 14, and 17 only target online players. Waves 10 and 20 target the Alliance HQ and carry the highest point multipliers.

How do I sign up?

Open the Viking Vengeance tile from the dashboard. If the event is active you will see a sign-up form. Fill in your details and click Sign Up. You can update your registration at any time before sign-ups close by submitting the form again.

The form asks for your in-game name and whether you'll be online or offline. Your march count (4, 5, or 6) is taken from your player profile — set it once on the Me tab and it is reused for every event.

Alternatively, turn on Auto sign-up in your profile (Me → save profile). You'll be added automatically as Offline the moment a new event starts — then just open the Viking tab and update your availability if you'll actually be online.

What should I enter for "In-game name"?

This is pre-filled from your player profile, or your Discord username if you haven't set a profile yet. If your in-game name is different, change it here — the march plan and admin list will show this name, so it should match what people see in-game.

When do sign-ups close?

The coordinator may set a sign-up lock time when activating the event. If set, a countdown timer appears inside the event banner on the Viking Vengeance page. When the timer reaches zero, the sign-up form locks automatically — you will no longer be able to register or update your registration.

The march plan is also generated automatically at that moment if one doesn't exist yet. Refresh the page shortly after the lock time to see your assignments.

If no lock time was set, sign-ups remain open until the admin closes them manually.

What do the coloured banners mean?

Gold banner — "Plan not finalized yet": A march plan exists but the coordinator hasn't confirmed it is final. Your assignments are shown for reference only. Do not send your marches yet — the plan may still change.

Green banner — "March plan is finalized": The coordinator has confirmed the plan is ready. Send your marches now to the players shown in your assignments list.

Blue banner — "Sign-ups are closed": The lock time has passed but a finalized plan isn't ready yet. Wait for the green signal before sending.

Online vs Offline — what does it mean?

Online — you will be actively playing during the event. Your city will be attacked by waves (including the special waves 7, 14, 17) and you can send reinforcements in real time.

Offline — you will not be playing during the event. You should still sign up and pre-send your marches to your assigned targets before the event begins.

Be honest about your status. The march plan algorithm uses this to maximise same-status reinforcements (online→online and offline→offline) while still ensuring every player receives the same total number of reinforcements.

What are the colour codes in the list?

Online during the eventOffline during the event

These colours appear on player names in the sign-up list and in your march assignments.

How do I read my March Assignments?

Once an admin generates the march plan, a numbered list appears at the top of the page showing your assigned reinforcement targets — one per march you selected when signing up.

  1. Send your first march to player #1.
  2. Send your second march to player #2, and so on down the list.
  3. Empty your own city before the event — do not keep troops home.

You can receive more reinforcements than you send — that is normal and by design. If the plan was regenerated after you last visited, refresh the page to see your updated assignments.

Why can't I see a march plan?

If a lock time was set, the plan generates automatically once it passes — refresh the page if you don't see it yet. Otherwise the plan is generated manually by a coordinator. Check back later or ask an R4.

What is the Shit List?

If you see a message saying you are on the Shit List, it means an R4 determined that you did not follow the event rules in a previous event. While on the list you cannot sign up for events. Contact an R4 directly to be removed.

The event shows as inactive — what does that mean?

There is no event scheduled right now, or the previous event has been closed by an admin. Sign-ups open when an admin activates the next event. You will see the sign-up form and the event's start time once it is active.
